We must stop our country’s decline now by electing bold leaders who want to serve the people first and put politics last. I am running to protect our country and yours and my children and grandchildren from a government that is putting their future at risk.

DICK BREWBAKER

Conservative Republican Candidate for U.S. Congress

Who is Dick Brewbaker?

Dick Lansden Brewbaker (R-Pike Road) is the former President of Brewbaker Motors, a third generation car dealership his family has operated in Montgomery, Alabama since 1941. He is a Christian, a businessman, husband, father, and grandfather running for Alabama’s newly constituted 2nd congressional district. He is a former state representative and state senator.

Though Dick Brewbaker was born in Harlingen, TX where his father was stationed with the Air Force, he has lived the majority of his life in Montgomery. After graduating from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in History and Economics, Brewbaker spent three years working as a teacher and wrestling coach — which led to a career in politics and a lifelong passion for education issues.

Dick got involved in politics as an education reformer, working as state director of SCORE 100, which advocated for education reform, and local control of schools. Through his efforts, Governor Fob James (R-Lanett) adopted many of the changes suggested by SCORE 100 as part of the education platform for his successful election as Alabama’s 2nd Republican Governor since Reconstruction in 1994.

Elected to the State House of Representatives in 2002, he served one term before bowing out for family reasons. In 2010, Brewbaker ran and won a Montgomery-based seat in the state senate. He made a campaign promise to only serve two terms. True to his word, Dick did not run for re-election in 2018. If elected as Congressman from Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, he will make the same pledge, and only serve four terms in DC.

Dick is married to the former Ruth Wible and they have 5 children, all boys: David, Tom, Mac, Ben and Alex. They also have 5 grandchildren. Dick is running for Congress because he is worried about the future of the United States and the world his children and grandchildren will inherit.

Dick and his family attend Christchurch Anglican Church where he serves as a verger and teaches Sunday School to middle schoolers.

Brewbaker's Conservative Stances

We can count on Brewbaker to take our shared conservative values to Washington and come back the same man he was when he left. He knows the importance of family which is why he is a pro-life, pro-second amendment, leader and will always put hard-working American families first in every decision he helps make.
